My Mid-Year Reset: What’s Working and What Needs to Change
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year. Every summer I like to pause and reflect on where I’ve been, what I’ve learned, and where I want to go next. A mid-year reset isn’t about criticizing yourself for unfinished goals—it’s about creating clarity for the months ahead.
One thing that’s working well for me right now is consistency. I’ve learned that small actions repeated daily are far more effective than dramatic changes that only last a few weeks. Whether it’s meal prepping, reading before bed, or taking daily walks, consistency has been the key to progress.
I’ve also become more intentional about protecting my time. Saying yes to everything often leaves little room for the things that matter most. This year I’ve been working on setting boundaries and prioritizing activities that align with my goals and values.
Of course, there are areas where I need to improve. One of those areas is giving myself more grace. It’s easy to feel behind when comparing your journey to someone else’s highlight reel. The truth is that growth rarely happens in a straight line.
As I look toward the second half of the year, I’m focusing on a few simple intentions:
- Continue building healthy routines.
- Spend more time creating and less time comparing.
- Prioritize rest alongside productivity.
- Invest in relationships that bring joy and encouragement.
- Celebrate progress instead of chasing perfection.
A reset doesn’t require a new year, a new month, or even a Monday. You can choose to start fresh whenever you need to.
If the first half of the year didn’t go as planned, remember that you still have plenty of time to write the next chapter.
