My top three studying tips

Here are my top three study tips that have helped me with my courses.

  1. Repetition

Committing something to long term memory is not easy for most people. The more you see the material, and the more you hear it or read about, the higher the chance you will remember it. One of the most efficient ways for me is to use flashcards. Whether they be online, by using Quizlet or another similar tool, or physical flashcards, is up to personal preference.

2. “study spot”

Study somewhere that is specifically designated for studying. This way, you train your brain that when you are in that specific spot, it’s work time.

3. Peer discussion

I find it really helpful to discuss class material with peers before, during, and/or after class. It helps get a different perspective and comes back to that idea of repetition.
